Cropsy scanners are built tough. Our die-cast aluminium enclosures withstand the knocks and bumps of normal driving, and are rain resistant to ensure the weather won't stop your scanning plans. Absolutely, the scanner can run in any weather conditions at any time of day. If your vehicle is able to drive, Cropsy will scan. We support any vineyard vehicle with a standard automotive battery: tractors, ATVs, robots, and even harvesters during harvest. Cropsy scanners have been tried and tested in the harshest vineyard environments, and will work alongside most implements including sprayers, mowers, mulchers, trimmers, and more.

We currently support cane, spur (including single, double, and quad cordon), long spur, California sprawl, high wire, and arcure (arched canes). Chablis is currently in development.

We recommend a 100% winter scan post-pruning (i.e. driving every second row) to get all your vine counts sorted before active growth starts. In the summer we recommend several 15-20% scans to get meaningful results, but you can vary this based on your needs; whether a sample is sufficient, or if you want full coverage for complete control.

Yes! For winter, all vine counts, bud counts, cane/spur counts, and post counts occur during one scan. In summer, mildew detection and yield counts occur during the same scan. The only exception is trunk disease because that scan must happen during a specific growth stage while shoots are still visible.

Your data should be on the platform before the next morning, though during our live demos it's typically ready within 30 minutes.

The scanner has an upper speed limit of 10 kph or 6 mph. Any speed below that will work, and the scanner can handle stopping in-row if needed. All you need to do is drive normally!
